13-year-old Hayley Mills made her debut in this marvellous drama that tackles an adult-child friendship with sensitivity and insight.

I found this film very tense because it kept making me guess. Although Haley Mills and John Mills are real life family their friendship in the film is very different to what it would be in real life. This film was Haley Mills first film, that she acted in, at the age of 13. Tiger Bay is a real place in Wales. There was a shocking opening for me. This makes you have to still watch the film to find out what happens next. This film was in black and white this didn't make any difference to my enjoyment of the film.
