If I'm honest I didn't really know what to think about this film at first but after going over the plot again, I believe it has grown on me. First of all it is a very stereotypical film in the way that precious and other members of her community talk and behave. Precious is like any other person, waiting for a chance to change and be successful. My first impression of her was that she didn't really care or didn't want to put any effort into her daily routine but only realised it was the effect of what has been happening to her at home. This film has a very deep topic and the actors expressed the effect of abuse very well but I think it could have been a lot better. Overall this film was quite complicated for me but I thoroughly enjoyed anyway. For me the best part of the film was the ending where precious decided to do the right thing and be the opposite to her parents and put her own children first and made sure they had a happy childhood.
