A really mysterious film, 13 Tzameti was described as a more suspenseful Fight Club. I really do hate to disagree, since the payoff was hardly worth the suspense that built up to it. As a brief summary of the plot, Sébastien is a poor construction worker of a morphine-addict named Godon, and is one day, after a series of various events, partakes in a terrifying gambling game of what can only be described as a ten player version of Russian roulette, ran in the background by a powerful criminal. I was intrigued by the cruel game that was played, and the lengths people will go to earn money. The cinematography was also well executed, but other than that, I could not see much in the film which elevated it further. The acting seemed OK, and the choice of black and white visuals over colour made the film seem much grittier. In other words, it did good.
