This film was directed by Baz Luhrmann who is also known for Romeo and juliet and austrilia, the main actors in this film were Leonardo dicaprio, toby mcguire and carey mulliqan. leonardo played the main role in Romeo and juliet as well as the Great Gatsby. This film was filled with romance, drama and thrilling moments that leaves the person watching on the edge of their chair. it was set in the 1920's but at points had very modern music, i think that they did this because they were looking at a target audience of younger people there for this music would relate better to them. the film was all about a man that would do anything for the love of his life no matter how long they have been separated. a very very rich man ( J gatsby) was living a life of many lies that have arose on rumours on how he made his money, he wasn't actually rich at all at the start of his life but he knew how to act rich which got him very far in life. He needed money to win the girl he loved back around but while he is doing so he fall in the way of her husband and has to try and win her but the problem is she does still love her husband as well as Gatsby. in a raging state Gatsby and daisy are in a car going overly fast and hit daisies husbands mistress when she saw the car she thought it was him but it clear wasn't because they accidentally hit her. The womans husband was not happy in the slightest and daisies husband told him it was gatsby and in this moment he took a gun and shot gatsby in the back when he was getting out of the pool then shot himself to end the film. In conclusion i liked this film very much and would recommend it to many of my friends.
