The Cat Returns is the funniest movie I have ever seen. No matter how dull a person you are (and I’ve met some dull people), you will not stop laughing all the way through this movie. Loads of people have this aversion to anime because they think it will be full on Japanese with no chance for anyone to watch and understand without learning perfect Japanese first, but that’s just ridiculous. I mean, they wouldn’t have nearly as big a market. You can change the language to English, or have Japanese with English subtitles if you want to be respectful to the makers of the film. This film has the best comedy I have ever heard, and will leave you crying with happiness. The heroine of this story, who gets sucked into the life of cats when she saves one’s life, is called Haru and is voiced in Japanese by Chizuru Ikewaki, and in English by Anne Hathaway. The storyline has such an amazing mix of sweet and random that you just can’t argue with. Studio Ghibli are an amazing company for producing films, and I have loved EVERY movie I have seen that they produced. You will love this movie, and it is so great for watching with friends, whether you are a hard-core anime fan or not. Just watch this movie, because you will not regret it guaranteed.
