Akira (1988)

Akira is an anime film set in a future version of Tokyo where a leader of a biker gang tries to find out what happened to his friend after he is taken by the military, which brings him down a road full of psychics, telekinesis and amazing visuals. This movie may not be for everyone but you need to watch this for the visuals alone, in the first few minutes the movie blows you away with its massively detailed cyberpunk style of Tokyo that makes you think you could do anything with just a pencil. It also has great characters and an even greater story that deserves to be on any list of best science fiction movies. Now like I said the movie isn't for everyone it is a bit confusing the first time watching but you will know you've watched something amazing and will probably watch it again and notice so much more. What else can I say this movie is a masterpiece in my eyes and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
