The beach is a movie about a man that discovers a mysterious island that is uninhabited and is said to be beautiful and so he asks a girl he just met and her boyfriend if they want to join him and go to this island. This movie had so much potential to be interesting at the start with the introduction to Robert Carlyle's character and Danny Boyle's direction but nose dives into a film that has basically reached it's characters goals half way through the movie and has already really finished but decides to keep going. Even though the characters have done a lot of things in the film, at the end they don't seem much different to where they were at the beginning and haven't developed or changed. Danny Boyle is a great director but it feels like he is just advertising this island for a holiday company and doesn't do anything unique apart from the beginning in Thailand. I think this movie is maybe worth one watch it isn't horrible but is very forgettable.
