Tom Cruise plays the role of Charlie Babbitt, an arrogant car dealer who is frustrated after being screwed out of his three million dollar inheritance from his father who recently passed. The film is about the bonding of the two siblings during a six day road trip, for me the strongest quality of the film is Dustin Hoffman's (Raymond Babbitt) role of a man living with autism. The film shows great character development such as Charlie's original intentions of keeping Raymond to get his half of the 3 million dollars he inherited, to wanting to look after him, this is show when Dr. Burner (Jerry Molen) offers him $250,000 to give him back to the nursing home he'd been kept at. I would suggest this to anyone who likes character-driven dramas or coming-of-age tales.
