i really liked this film i feel it made a lot of sense to me.
i could understand little bits of it because i can speak a bit of the language they use in the film.
i really liked how the story went, i think it was really interesting and it really drew my attention. the story is about a girl who was born that was meant to be a boy, her granddad (paka) was not very happy about this and was being really mean to her, one day a bunch whales where beached (they whales where the ancestors of paikea) and paikea wanted to help so she got on the whale and helped it get back to sea that was when her paka realized he had made a huge mistake and was heart broken, in the end paikea was fine and they all lived happily ever after.
my favorite character is Paikea, she is a very strong girl, and i love how she keeps trying to show her love for her paka even though he is evil.
my favorite part was when pai had gone to save the whales for her paka realized he had made a mistake.
