Set in the year 2019, the futuristic movie 'Blade Runner' depicts a world where our finest creation, the Replicants, have become our biggest threat. When 4 replicants make their way to the city of Los Angeles to extend their short life-span, the retired Rick Deckard is forced to track them down and exterminate them before they do. the director of this timeless movie, Ridley Scott, is known for his excellent use of light and colour when creating the atmospheres in his work. 'Blade Runner' is not an exception. Throughout the piece, each scene is rich with vibrant blues that set the futuristic theme of the movie. It also gives the film a cold vibe, which suggests that the future that Scott envisions is not a positive one. Keeping the viewer on the edge of their seat, every minute is packed with action and stunning camera work. Even though we don't get to fully understand the story behind each character, each one is so diverse, that they all add so much to the overall experience for the viewer. Because this is the directors cut, the film does not include any of Harrison Ford's voice over, leaving periods in the film of purely atmospheric music and visuals. This adds an almost eerie nature to the film, but also allows the viewer to fully appreciate the fantastic camera work and timeless quality that could surpass many modern-day Sci-Fi films with little effort.
