Personally, I quite enjoyed this film. It had some funny and witty moments that made the rest of the club and I laugh and we enjoyed the film overall. The atmosphere of the class greatly contributed to the film, as we all laughed together so I think it would help if it was watched with a large group of people. However, the story was often slow and there were certain points where it seemed to be funny but wasn’t either due to it being distasteful or just not as comical as it was meant to be. The plot was fairly weak as there was a hostage situation at the radio station where Alan Partridge works and he is the only one who can save the day but it was fairly unrealistic and not as dramatic as it tries to make it out to be. That said, it is an original storyline and it adds to the comedic effect of the whole film. I don’t think it fully lives up to Steve Coogan’s past work as Alan Partridge; it seems like it was an excuse to add to the franchise whether it was seen as particularly funny or not. His fans will still be impressed by the film though, as it is still a very good comedy to watch when you want to laugh but does have some weaker aspects to it.
