Johnny Depp adds another compelling eccentric to his repertoire, bringing deadpan wit to the undead in his role as Barnabas Collins.

Despite the negative reviews I've seen on this film, I enjoyed this film greatly, Tim burton produces yet another interesting film with Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter, the film is a remake of the 1960s gothic soap opera 'Dark Shadows'. As a fan of Tim Burton's films this is yet another dark movie with an extremely unique Protagonist. The general plot of the film is intriguing and entertaining and the film expresses what it is like to be a vampire in a humorous way, as the change from his former life to modern day makes the protagonist of the film seem strange to everyone including the audience. The relationship between Angelique and Barnabas is interesting however the film does feel a bit rushed or incomplete especially at the end of the film where something felt missing. Overall the film is an entertaining modern take on the 'Dark Shadows' series.
