"A taste of honey" is a British adapted film from a theatre production with the same name, produced by Shelagh Delaney. The film is set in the 1960's era, which at the time was an interesting film, openly talking about the countries most taboo subjects; for example, homosexuality and teenage pregnancies.
in the present world, "a taste of honey" shows the growing modern world what life was like for different people and their communities. back then, in the mid century era, life was unbearable for the black community. as shown towards the beginning of the film, a sign outside a church hall says "God washes whitest of them all". in the film, Josephine meets a black guy, and ends up having an intimate relationship which results in Jo getting pregnant. as stated in paragraph one, teenage pregnancy was a taboo subject. to be continued.........
