Diary of a wimpy kid The main characters in this film are the Hefley family, Greg who is 12, his older brother Rodrick who always is trying to get Greg into trouble his little brother Manny and his parents. The Heffley family are going on a road trip to attend their grandmothers Meenaws 90th birthday but Greg really wants to go to a gaming convention to meet his idol and puts the address of the convention into the sat nav when his parents leave the car, Greg and Rodrick are not happy to spend a few days in the car with their family so they plan on sneaking away to the gaming convention, Rodrick wants to compete in a rock band competition that could give him enough money to fix his van and Greg wants everyone to forget about the video that was taken when the family where out for a meal, and his brothers Mannys nappy fell off when he slid down the slide and into the ball pit in the restaurant and all the people who where there, videoed it with their phone s and it went viral. Greg thinks if he can go to the convention and meet his idol then his friends would forget about the video and think he is cool if Roddrick can get a photograph of them together. on their way they come across some funny adventures and a crazy family who Greg keeps playing tricks on, who in the end steal meenaws birthday present a family photo album, so the Heffleys decide they must get it back and brake into their hotel room, everyone gets out in time except Greg who is found hiding behind the shower curtain by the crazy dad who is scarey and very very big he tries to catch Greg but he escapes and the family get away with their present for meenaw. This was part of the movie i found exciting and a bit frightening incase Greg got caught. The diary of a wimpy kid is one of my favourite movies and i really enjoyed the last two movies ,but this one i found not as entertaining or as funny as the last . The characters are played by new actors and i found Greg convincing but not the rest of the family which was disappointing. The film did make me laugh sometimes, but the story wasn’t as funny or exciting as the other wimpy kid movies. I would rate this movie 4 stars Calum aged 10 years
