This film is all about revenge and obsession turning into possession. There were lots of scenes where people were possessed but captain Ahab had the most scenes of possession, for example, the storm scene when Ahab wanted fresh sails so the strong wind could get him to the whale. Now Captain Ahab was obsessed with Moby but that obsession turned into possession. All the men on Captain Ahab's ship thought they were doing whaling for god but really it was all about the money(you found that out when Ahab pinned a Spanish gold coin to the sail and said "Whoever spots the white whale will get the Spanish gold coin) but Ahab wasn't interested in the money he wanted revenge for thy leg that was taken of by Moby. So the true story is actually about possession. Surprisingly Ishmael was possessed (at the very beginning) to go to the sea. Ishmael is the main character and soon meats a Indian who travels with him on the boat of Captain Ahab. At first they didn't allow the Indian on the boat because he wasn't Christian but when they saw his skill of whaling they made him sign up quickly ((cough) all about the money). Elijah a homeless crazy man was also possessed by a prophecy of Captain Ahab: One day Ahab will fall then rise again and beckons you all to follow all follow but one. The prophesy was correct Ahab did die while he was on the whale (because it pulled him under water and drowned him) and rose again dead pinned to the whale and the wind moved his hand back and forward (beckoning) they all followed (but the boy on the boat) because they thought god was on there side and god made Ahab beckon. But god really wasn't on their side because when the wrath of death in a form of a whale killed them all but Ishmael. Even Starbuck (Ahab's right hand man who disagreed with Ahab the whole time to kill the whale) went and got killed, he even led them to death. I was surprised when Starbuck led the men to kill the whale in the end and when the man fell and drowned and when the green lights appeared in the storm. Also even though it was a model whale I still thought it was real. The reason I liked this film is because it is full of scenes where men get there blood high and dramatic and crazy scenes also lots of things surprised me.
