Going into this film I was hesitant to expect anything more than a re colouring and improved animations version of the 1990 Horror classic. However, this film reinvented and re imagined what it means to be terrified. Andres Muschietti had a tough task on his hands when coming to tackling a 2017 remake without tarnishing a cult favourite, but handled the childhood friendship and youthful relationships as perfectly as he handled the suspense filled, traumatising scares and frights. The casting of 'The Losers' reflects the quality of young talent that Hollywood has coming its way. Each character was compelling and lovable in every way. A special mention goes out to Finn Wolfhard who clearly differentiates his character perfectly to that of his one in Stranger Things. Bill Skarsgard as Pennywise the clown will introduce a generation of children to what the feeling of terror really is. The man is a genius with how he presents his character, and can easily rival the great Tim Curry. Overall, I would say that this must be the scariest film of the last decade and will go down in history as one of the greatest ever remakes.
