Yet another unpopular opinion on a film that is generally disliked for some reason or another

Now I understand the reasons as to WHY this film isn't considered a masterpiece in film history. I can accept the general reviewers opinion of why this film doesn't live up to the creepiness, or amazing filming and directing that Kubrick would've done for it... But that's all trash, because I think you're not meant to be looking at this film as something Kubrick would've made, but as something Kubrick should've produced. Quick background, this film was long planned to be worked on by both Kubrick and Spielberg, but the two could never decide which would direct and which would produce. Kubrick believed Spielberg should direct it, because his work was more family orientated, and carried stronger messages of morality (Which is what Kubrick wanted from the film). Spielberg believed Kubrick should direct this film, because he believed that the film needed to carry the creepy scary atmosphere that Kubrick's filmed was so famed for. The plan was that the film would be the perfect blend of both, and so the two working together would make this film absolutely hmmm sublime. Whilst all the plans were made, unfortunately Kubrick died. So Spielberg went ahead and made this film without him, but in memory of Kubrick. This is where the negative reviews come in. Most peoples problems with this film revolved around how everytime Spielberg recreates a Kubrick style shot, he absolutely fails at it. But the films story largely gets ignored because of how often people look at the cinema language. I personally believe that a lot of the film lacks the creepy tone that Kubrick would've brought it, but for the better... It's a sad kind of story, a futuristic Pinocchio, and whilst it starts out with sinister undertones, it's not long before it loses that. This film will appeal to you depending on how sensitive you are as a person, and if you watch it at just the right time in your life, it could really change how you see the world, and what your opinion on what "Life" and "Love" really are. It's soundtrack and film language continue to disappoint reviewers looking for Kubrick, but if you're watching this film passively, then I believe you'll end up enjoying this film...
