A despicable continuation.

Despicable Me 3 is the third movie in Illumination Animation's despicable me trilogy but in my opinion, it should be the last. The movie once again follows Gru (Steve Carell) as he receives the news that he has a twin brother named Dru (also Steve Carell). The two join forces as Gru attempts his revenge against the films antagonist, Balthazar Bratt (Trey Parker). The film as usual has great comedic jokes and amazing voice acting, but the story is boggled down by multiple side plots that have no pay off and/or no affect on the plot. This goes as far as giving many characters short screen time whilst others are completly ignored, and many of these plot lines are short and are mainly there to pad out the run time of the film. The villain of the film Balthazar Bratt is an amazing character who makes nany jokes and references due to him being themed as an 80s character, this leads to him stealing about every scene he's in. The relationship between Gru and Dru is poorly explored and we bearly get to see them bond and when drama does come between them, it's resolved 2 scenes later making the plot line seem uninteresting. The movie is constantly showing nany pointless and sometimes unfunny plot lines that have no purpose in the film that makes the viewer lose interest in the main story as it tries too hard to focus on other characters like the minions and Gru's daughters. In the end while i would recommend this to other children, I believe that the film is only good for one viewing and isn't worth re-watching over and over again like the first 2 films. Personaly, I see this as a point where the Despicable Me films can be finish with good trilogy of movies before they go on for too long and get less and less funny, similar to the Ice age franchise. This is Illumination Animation's chance to finally stop raiding off the success of the first 2 films and mabey try making a something new and original instead of something that we've seen enough of.
