Sixteen (2013)

This movie tackled many topics that are relatable to a London audience, especially those who are of the younger generation. This is because it includes key themes like gangs, knife crime and violence in young teens. The message it conveyed was very relatable to younger viewers and is an important thing to teach an impressionable audience about these topics. The movie starts with Juma, a child soldier who has been adopted by an English woman who moves him to East London. The movie follows Juma’s life and shows the struggle and trauma he continues to deal with after such a distressing incident. As an audience you get to learn about the struggles Congo faced and how Congolese citizens during this period went through so many traumas at such a young age. The theme of this movie really makes you appreciate what you have. However I found the ending very inconclusive, I would have liked to have an ending that makes the audience completely content.
