I’m Not Lion to You This Was Grrreat - Lion King

Lion King is a Disney classic film containing the animals in Africa, surrounding the main character Simba a lion, son of Mufasa. Mufasa is the king of the area and Simba is soon to be the next king. However, Simba’s uncle Scar has other plans for the heir to the throne. Scar being jealous of the power Simba will one day get, he plots against them and tries to kill Mufasa and outcast Simba, leaving Scar to be king.

Obviously, children love this film as it is catered to them, which goes with Disney’s theme of producing their movies with a child audience in mind. Almost every child remembers the memories of watching Lion King while attempting to sing-along to the songs. This film has amazing animation and grrreat songs. Sorry about the pun. The voice acting expressed a lot of the animal’s emotions which was complimented well with the animation.

On the other hand, it’s not made for me because I am not a part of the younger audience they make this for. It also has cheesy and cliché lines which is expected from a film made back then.

Overall, I will give this film 4 stars as it was not my type of film but it sure brought a smile on my face when I reminisced on my child-hood.
