Go on some Adventures in Zambezia with Kai, a trainee Hurricane, the son of Sekhuru and blue falcon. Fly by as he runs (or flies) away from home, and catch up with him as he struggles to free his father from vultures and, ultimately, the great lizard himself…
However, this movie is awful as it is actually PREDICTABLE, e.g. when Kai meets another bird and finds out about Zambezia, EVERYONE knows he is going to go to Zambezia! Also, when someone falls off a cliff and Kai goes to rescue them, EVEN THOUGH he is out of view, EVERYONE knows what will happen next.
My favourite character is Zoe, a young bird who wants to become a Hurricane, as she is really spikey and defensive at first, but then her unkindness fades away.
Another bad thing about this movie (yes, I hear you sigh) is that vultures are portrayed to be dumb. This happens quite often in movies, even though vultures are, in fact, clever, as they can smell an animal’s sickness, and hang around until they die. Then, with their incredible immune system, they eat the carcass and VOILA! One more dead body gone. Do you KNOW how many illnesses we would be dealing with if it wasn’t for vultures?!?
If I wanted to recommend this film (which I don’t), I would recommend it to people who aren’t bothered by mistakes and stupid things in movies, and who LOVE animals. However, I am a perfectionist, and this movie I find not only boring, but wrong and predictable, everything you DON’T want in a movie. So, for me, this animated flick gets two stars! Watch it for yourself, though, and see if you agree…
