Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014)

The Kingsman movie has some good reviews and bad reviews; from The Guardian, this movie got 4/5 ratings, furthermore, from rotten tomatoes it got 74% and from the telegraph it got 1/5. A review from Times of India was ‘Kingsman: The Secret Service is a breath of fresh in the spy movie genre’ this gives it a good review and makes people want to watch it as it sounds interesting and makes their audience want to view it to see what they mean, on IMDb this movie got 7.7/10. What I excepted from the movie was an action-packed film, with an assassin for the secret service, a hitman, who kills the enemies that are trying to move drugs or are in a gang. The actual plot for this film is a spy service (the secret service) is recruiting new people to be part of their service, and a chavy teenager enters as it’s what his dad used to be before he passed and he goes through loads of trials before finally becoming a member, this is just before a global destruction plan is put into action, with some twisted technology. The plot does make sense but it was very unpredictable to begin with and it was easy to follow to an extent as it was hard to understand the enemy’s intentions to begin with, and the plot all together is believable as its about advanced technology turning people into ‘monsters’ which with how our modern technology is going it doesn’t seem hard for it to end up that way. I really enjoyed the movie, because of how realistic it could become in the future and the male protagonist is relatable to some audiences as he comes from a non-privileged background and has to work for what he gets and doesn’t get given everything, as well as, the good points were showing the characters develop throughout the movie and show how they handle different things, for example; in the trials, they have to do some tough things, and it shows us how each person deals with it. However, a bad point in the movie is not showing the enemies intentions, as that part was confusing to begin with but as the idea progressed it got easier to follower which turned into a good point. The scene I particularly enjoyed in this movie was the pub fight scene, this was memorable because of how unexpected it was, as well as it being funny, the reason it was unexpected is because they’re sat in the bar and the male protagonist is explaining his back story and his step dad walks in, as they start on the male protagonist and the ‘posh’ person he’s talking to turns out to be in the secret service and ends up taking them all out, as well as the step dads use of the word ‘granddaddy’ this makes the secret service agent seem rich, and unlikely to do anything to harm people, weak and fragile but in reality he takes all four of the guys out. I would recommend this movie, to anybody above the age of 15 as the film is rated a 15, and anybody who enjoys action movies, I would definitely recommended it because it’s an amazing movie and should be watched by everybody as it has humour in it but also serious topics.
