A complete mess of a film. Taking place immediately after its predecessor, this film proceeds to almost completely ignore the novel upon which it was based, stripping all of the originality and most of the good ideas that it had. Concepts and plot twists which should have been given long periods of time to develop are given away within ten minutes, leaving the film with very little to do with itself later on. The acting and writing are both poor, with characters stating facts that have been blatantly obvious to the audience for several minutes, and any interesting ideas the novel had are removed and replaced with generic film tropes and one-dimensional villains. All of the pieces of the novel were there, but were put together by a team with the apparent artistic talent of a squashed hedgehog.
Print this reviewAfter winning the competition in the first film, Katniss Everdeen is a hero and inspiration to all, which puts her life in even more danger.
