Musical and Amazing!!!

5 stars

30 Jan 2019

I love this film so much. It is absolutely hilarious and it includes some of my favourite songs ever, and in this film, I think they are probably sung even better than the better than the incredible original ABBA versions. Before it was made into a film, Mamma Mia was also a hit musical in theatres and on Broadway.

It was primarily filmed in Skopelos, Greece and was directed by Phyllida Lloyd, who before I watched Mamma Mia I have actually never watched any films by before. It has many amazing actors in such as: Meryl Streep, Domonic Cooper, Amanda Seyfried, Christine Baranski, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth, Stellan Skarsgard and Julie Walters. It was first released in the UK on July 10th 2008, and it's sequel was released on the 20th July 2018.

The film is set on the Greek island of Kalokairi. It is about 20-year-old bride-to-be Sophie Sheridan - Amanda Seyfried - who reveals to her bridesmaid that she has secretly invited her three possible fathers Sam Carmicheal, Bill Anderson and Harry Bright to the wedding. It also follows Donna, Sophie's diva mother and her best friends and fellow 'Donna's Dynamos' band members, Tanya and Rosie.

As I think everyone does, I love the songs and the dancing in this film, as they are all so upbeat and fun. Most of the music was original ABBA, however, Benny and Bjorn from the band, also wrote some new music for the film.

I love this so much and it was so hilarious, happy and colourful. I would recommend it to anyone of any age, as it is so fun and funny.
