Captain Phillips

I have to say I loved Captain Phillips. When I first saw the trailer I really wanted to see it and I really glad I got the chance to. I have really gotten into watching movies based on true stories and when they're made really well I really enjoy them. Paul Greengrass did a great job bringing this true life event to the silver screen. The event took place in 2010 and what happens is that a hostage situation takes place where Simali (I don't know if it's spelled right) pirates take over a cargo ship and later hold Captain Phillips (Tom Hanks) hostage on a lifeboat. I am a big fan of Tom Hanks and I think he is a great actor. I love his movies and his performance as Captain Phillips is so well done. I have only seen a couple of Paul Greengrass' films and he is a great director. At the end of the film I swear I had a knot in my throat and that I was thought I was gonna cry but I held it back and I am not going to tell you what happened. The actors who played the Simali pirates were great and I think I heard that they aren't professional actors which makes them even better. I loved the overall atmosphere of the movie as it really showed the seriousness of what is going on and what the captain and his crew is going through. Captain Phillips is definately a great movie in my opinion and I loved it. Paul Greengrass did a great job and this movie didn't disapoint me and I do recommend that you watch it and I am extremely happy to give it a score of 5 out of 5 stars. It still surprises me that it is a true story. Would recommend to anyone.
