La La Land (2016)

La La land is an exciting and fast paced movie which keeps you on your toes and pulls you into a romantic and musical story and adventure. It is based on the life of a women and man who meet and carry a journey together of falling in love and portrays the problems they face along the way.

From the beginning it shows a clear layout of how the movie will be filled with colour, dance and music and draws you in straight away. Anyone with a particular interest in musicals and a movie where you are prepared to be broken into with songs very often then this is perfect for you. I would say it is for any age and anyone looking for a movie to cheer you up yet catch you off guard in heartbreaking moments.

The filming of this movie has clearly been thought out well and the different angles enhance different emotions and tensions. The lighting also helps to portray different atmospheres according to the different scenes and emotions the audience are supposed to be feeling.

Altogether, although I wouldn't watch this again and wouldn't have picked to watch it in the first place it wasn't as bad as I expected and would recommend to anyone interested in musicals.
