Possibly the greatest war film ever made, this anime is the deeply moving tale of a boy and his sister fighting to survive in World War...

I personally don't usually cry at a film, but no matter how many times I watch Grave of the Fireflies, I can't help it. This film tells a brilliant war-time story, from a unique perspective of children. Mixed with the beautiful art and soundtrack of Studio Ghibli, dark, heart-wrenching moments and a storyline that never fails to hook you in, this movie is probably one of my favorites by the studio. Grave of the fireflies perfectly embodies the pain and suffering of war-torn Japan; I would definitely recommend this to be watched within a teen audience, as it can be very dark.
