The maze runner isn’t just a book you can also explore its mysteries in a film, you can describe it as a science fiction film and also action. The film shows how strange and confusing it can be for the teenagers living the life of the characters.
The main character “Thomas” is played by the actor Dylan O’Brien, Thomas wakes up in a box surrounded by a large group of boys whilst having no idea of what’s going on. In the maze you come up in the box not remembering anything from your previous life, which is very strange for them because only after a few days they finally get their name back. In the maze they have three rules to keep them alive but since Thomas arrived things change…
I think the films main message is to never give up even when you are in the most difficult of consequences just keep trying. It shows this when everything keeps getting worse, like when all of their rules are twisted because more of the Gladers take Thomas’s side, to try and escape from the maze even though they don’t know what they are up against.
In my opinion I think that the film is very interesting, you enjoy the tense moments throughout the story and it is also very mysterious how all the characters got there and how they are surrounded by a maze with no way out.
