This movie is about an ex doctor who then becomes an animal doctor called Doctor Dolittle (Rex Harrison) who learnt to speak to animals then set off on a quest with a boy named Tommy (William Dix)Irish man called Matthew (Anthony Newley) to find a mythical snail called The great pink sea snail and on the way found a lady named Emma Fairfax (Samantha Eggar) and set off on a journey of highs and lows. My favourite character was William Shakespeare (Geoffrey Holder) because of how he could keep such a straight face with a nickname that everyone could giggle at and a very known English poet who wrote very gory plays back in late 1500’s and early 1600’s. My least favourite character was Emma Fairfax (Samantha Eggar) because she always had something to moan about like it being to cold etc. Because it was a musical my favourite song was “I’ve never seen anything like it” because it had a goofy beat and was a nice bouncy song but my least favourite song was “At the crossroads” because at the start it had a good beat but then started getting slower and slower to where it got boring. I would say that the better movie is the newer Dr Dolittle because in my opinion it has more excitement than this movie.
