Call Me By Your Name (2017)

I have been putting of watching this film for what seems to be months. Why? Because it had been hyped up so much and I wanted to be in the right frame of mind for watching such an iconic film, so 1 am on a Friday quarantined evening seemed like the right time to start. I also more slightly embarrassingly, didn't want to fully realise my definitely overdue and subdued crush on Timothée Chalamet. (which is now in full-swing btw)

But now after seeing it, I can confidently say with my entire being, that this film depicts one of the truest love stories I have ever seen. Despite on paper, it sounding like a film that could potentially be boring (a story following the six week summer visit of an archeology student to a village in northern Italy), don't hate me; the film turns it around with beautiful scenery, convincing and passionate portrayal's of characters we all know in our day-to-day life, a moving story of the true 'tabooness' of homosexuality in the 1980s and a simply beautiful soundtrack.

I can truly say I loved it, and it makes me feel warm inside, although the slight downside of this film is that it does make you feel like you will be alone forever, so don't recommend if you are already feeling this way.

To wrap it up watch this film if you want to feel warm and fuzzy inside, and over 15! You'll love this film, if like me, you are obsessed with seeing other people live out your dreams!

(P.S Although this may seem obvious, watch with subtitles as a much larger portion of the film is in French/Italian than I realised, so had to rewind and rewatch most scenes, because I am too arrogant in my belief in myself in understanding these languages despite not having a qualification in them)
