The Breadwinner is about an eleven year old trying to provide for her family during the Afghanistan War. This story about a girl is very heartwarming as it shows the stark reality of how different life and culture can be in other places round the world. The problem of sexism in this culture is shown in the film through both the main character and other females.
I enjoyed watching the film because it highlighted the problems that some women face in other parts of the world. However, I found some dialogue difficult to understand due to the accents used. I think the age rating is accurate based on the fact that a couple of the scenes in the film could be upsetting to some viewers. Also, this isn't the type of genre I would usually watch.
