The Secret Garden remake

2 stars

24 Oct 2020

On Friday 23rd of October 2020 I watched Sky Cinema premiere and the film I saw was a remake on the classic film and book the film was called The Secret Garden with Dixie Egerickx playing Mary, Julie Walters playing Mrs. Medlock, we have Colin Firth playing the uncle his name was Archibald Craven, Martha the servant was played by Isis Davis, her bother Dickon was played by Amir Wilson and finally the main cast we have Edan Hayhurst playing master Colin. Here is a little bit of what the film is about When Mary Lennox's parents suddenly die, she is sent to live with her uncle, Archibald Craven, on his remote country estate deep in the Yorkshire moors. While exploring, she discovers a hidden magical garden which belonged to Colin's mother. My review on this film today is that the film gets two out five stars which means I am Not a fan because I felt the version that was made back in 1993 was a lot better at explaining how both children lost their mothers and Mary her father. I also thought the book that was wrote by Frances Hodgson Burnett was much more like the other film than this one. I really love the book and I also love the other film that was a book first and that was called A Little Princess. I would not recommend this film because if you are a fan of the book this film has to many changes.
