20,000 Leagues Under The Sea (1954)

20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA 1954. This is a historical type of fantasy Disney film based on the book by Jules Verne of the same title.

I found this movie not really for me but nevertheless, still quite good to watch, because it was a very exciting, science-fiction, steampunk adventure.

This film is about a Professor called Aronnax, and his assistant Conseil, and their trusty, comedic harpoonist expert whaler, Ned Land(KIRK DOUGLAS), go on an adventure to find a sea monster.

But then they get captured by Captain Nemo(JAMES MASON), in his giant, luxurious, electric*, iron, submarine, called the Nautilus. Captain Nemo is angry and violent but it's for a good cause. I like Captain Nemo there is something friendly about him. Watch the movie to find out more.

Trapped together 20,000 leagues under the sea they experience floods, fight giant squids and even meet cannibals.

My favourite scene is was when Ned played his guitar (made of bones!) to the very puppy-like seal.

I would recommend this for everyone that's over 7 or 8 and DOESN'T have a phobia of being underwater. I learned that from my 9-year-old sister with the gigantic squid, which is NIGHTMARE FUEL.

*Electricity was a new thing in Verne's time, so to even think of a electric, steam-powered submarine was amazing!
