Watching this film, you follow a teenage boy called Conor as he is guided by a fantastical monster on a journey of hope and courage. As his mother is suffering more and more from her illness, Conor has to live with his grandmother. The have nothing in common and Conor is struggling. But when he meets the monster, he realises his real desire. This bittersweet tale is suitable for ages 9+ and is not appropriate for viewers who do not like sad films. I enjoyed this as it shows not every film has a happy ending, but a film will still be worth watching even if the good people loose.
