Jaws (1975)

Jaws is a very well-known film across all ages even for those that haven’t watched it. I was terrified of watching it at first but I finally did and now it has become one of my favourite films ever.

Start off with a young woman is killed by a shark in Amity island. Chief Martin Brody finds the body and demands for the beaches to be shut so there are no more casualties. Mayor Larry Vaughn disagrees because he doesn’t want to lose his tourist revenue. Since the beaches were not closed there were a couple more attacks a couple deaths but some survive. Matt and Quint decide to help chief Brody kill the shark. In total, there are five death scenes in the entire film.

The music score in this is amazing and iconic. It’s all made by John Williams who does the music for other highly popular films such as: Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Jurassic Park and Et

This film is directed by Steven Spielberg who also directed: ET, Jurassic Park, BFG, Indiana Jones and Ready player one. Steven and John work on some of the same films quite often.

The story is written amazingly and I couldn’t tell you any faults because I have no clue if there even is any.

Fun fact: the shark in Jaws was an animatronic and was an absolute nightmare to get working in the water.

I would give this film a 10/10 it’s one of my all time favourites.
