Fantastic Film Featuring Futuristic Fun and Felines!

5 stars

This fabulous film is an Animation Adventure based on the book Treasure Island by Robert Louis Stevenson. Ron Clements and John Musker are the Directors of this particular Disney movie and they put a spin on the original idea to make it inter-galactic and futuristic. Clements and Musker’s other well-known film is The Great Mouse Detective, but this style of animation is different and unique.

The Film is about a boy who heard of Pirate Captain Nathaniel Flint and when he is older decides to go looking for Treasure Planet after an alien Captain died, leaving him an inter-stellar map.

He has an Adventure with his friends on an olden-day-style ship with futuristic features called the RLS Legacy commanded by feline Captain Amelia and her first mate Mr. Arrow. There are some plot twists and lots of cosmic action. It's set in space with lots of other-worldly planets, spaceships and aliens. There is also futuristic technology and it features robots!

I liked the realistic quality of the background and when a ship passes the screen. I especially appreciated the idea of the futuristic setting in space. I also enjoyed the style of the magnificently artistic animation.

My favourite character is Morph, the slimy creature that can shape-shift, and it makes me laugh because it is so hilarious with what it gets up to.

What would have improved it was if they added a bit more spacey adventures, like them crash-landing on a planet or something cool like that.

I recommend this film from 7-year-olds to 70,000-year-olds! This is just the movie a family can watch if they sit on the sofa on a cosy evening.
