This was my first time seeing this film and it was love at first sight for me! The first 10 minutes of this film has no-one talking which is a bit like the other popular film, "Wall-E". I would say Up is more of a sad film than a happy film because I think there were only about 2 happy parts that I noticed at the end. But luckily, I quite like sad films! The story is that a boy (the old man) meets a girl named Ellie and they like each other so they get married and have a happy life. But all of that gets turned upside down when they don't have any children and Ellie dies. Mr Fredrickson, (the old man) now lives around a construction site and is really grumpy. Soon, he meets Russell, a little boy, and he wants to assist the elderly to get his final badge. When it's time for Mr Fredrickson to move house he attaches balloons to his house and floats away to where he and Ellie always wanted to go: Paradise Falls. Russell has snuck on board and they both get to the Falls. There, they meet a colourful bird called Kevin and a talking dog called Dug. Mr Fredrickson's hero was there and when he heard that Mr Fredrickson had been with Kevin, he got livid and attacked Mr Fredrickson and Russell. Will they be victorious and save Kevin, or will they fail? Oh, and there's a scene at the end that really brings a tear to your eye.
Print this reviewOne of the greatest children's films of all time, this much-loved (mostly dialogue-free) French movie is about a young boy and his toy balloon.
