Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

3 stars

23 Nov 2022

On Tuesday the 22nd of November 2022 I watched the remake which stars the actor Johnny Depp who plays Willy Wonka and Freddie Highmore who plays Charlie Bucket the remake was called Charlie and the Chocolate Factory which is all about a young boy called Charlie Bucket who comes from a poor but a loving family who would love nothing more than hoping that Charlie would find a golden ticket to enter the amazing chocolate factory run by inventor and owner Willy Wonka. As luck would have it, Charlie finds the last golden ticket and goes on this once-in-a-lifetime adventure with his grandpa Joe. Among the other four winners who are Veruca Salt, a spoiled rich girl; Augustus Gloop, a gluttonous kid who stuffs his face with sweets; Violet Beuragarde, a champion trophy gum chewer; and Mike Teavee, a kid who spends more time watching TV and playing video games than anything else. Most fascinating is the mysterious Willy Wonka who in turn had a troubled childhood and has a special grand prize at the end for one of the kids. Also along the tour are Wonka's staff the singing, working Oommpa Loompas. This film review has been given a three-star rating because I prefer the original film that was made in 1971 with Gene Wilder who played the part of Willy Wonka, I also thought that the book was much better to read again and again. So overall this review has been given three stars which means I found the film OK to watch at least once. Next Thursday will be the 1st of December 2022 where I will be doing another 24 films to write reviews on for my Christmas challenge will I be able to past it again or will I fail it. I hope you will read all of my 24 film reviews and enjoy what films I have chosen to write a review for.
