Whale rider is an amazing film including a young Māori girl trying to lead her tribe, however, her grandfather does not feel comfortable with this and searches for a suitable boy. Watch as the heart-breaking events cause mayhem to happen. Can Paikea help her tribe with whatever happens? Or will her grandfather not let her? This film is a bit predictable though because the main character is so determined. This film was made in 2002 and is 1 hour and 41 minutes long, so I would not recommend it to people who usually cannot sit through long movies, but I would recommend it to people who enjoy films about girls who break traditions of boys just doing everything. I rate it 4 stars.
