On Wednesday which was the 8th of March 2023 I watched one of my favourite musicals which was called Oliver and this is what the film is all about In Victorian England, Oliver Twist is the name given by a workhouse warden to a boy born in the workhouse orphanage, Oliver's mother who died in childbirth and whose identity is unknown. Now is a adolescent, Oliver, who has never felt loved or accepted, manages to escape from both the harsh workhouse and his equally harsh placements "for sale" and manages to make his way to London, where Oliver, feels accepted for the first time in his life, and is then welcomed into a group of other young boys, their leader is the Artful Dodger, who "make wallets" under the direction of Fagin. What Oliver is initially unaware of is that they are really a band of pickpockets, Fagin who hides away whatever riches he is able to obtain for his own personal benefit. One of Fagin's associates is the violent Bill Sikes, whose girlfriend, Nancy, is devoted to him despite his abuse of her. Oliver looks to Nancy as his one true friend, especially needed when he discovers what Fagin and the boys actually do. Oliver also comes to the attention of the wealthy Mr. Brownlow. Out of circumstance, Bill sees Oliver as both an asset and a liability, but one that needs to be kept enslaved under his direction. Nancy has to decide whether to be loyal to Bill to help him keep Oliver, or do what is best for Oliver by helping him escape, especially as she knows that Brownlow is looking for Oliver when he learns of Oliver's true heritage. This review has been given five stars which means I loved it because my favourite character would be Nancy because no matter what happens to her she cared for the children's health and well begin even Oliver's. I have three favourite songs and they are As Long As He Needs Me which is sung by Nancy, I'd Do Anything which is sung by Nancy , Dodger and Oliver and finally my third song I like is called Oom-Pah-Pah which is sung by Nancy and the Pub folk. As I have said many times before one of my favourite films to sit and watch are Musicals, action, Disney and comedy. My next two films are The Mummy which I will watch next Wednesday and Shazam Fury of the Gods which I will watch on Saturday the 18th of March at the cinema. That is the end of my review for the film which is called Oliver which I would recommend this film to other members to watch. But only watch this film if you like Musicals if you don't watch it then this is not the film for you.
