This is an animated movie about an American boy called Hogarth who befriends a metal-eating robot who fell from the sky. Hogarth is a 9 year-old boy who lives in a small town with his mother. One day, in the woods near his town, he encounters a giant robot trying to eat the power cable. When Hogarth learns that the robot is kind and friendly, they become good friends. The robot is not violent, however, an incident happened where he derailed a train by trying to fix it after taking it apart. The incident caught the attention of a US government agent Mansley, who suspects if the derailment had anything to do with the enemy nation. When the agent comes to Hogarth's town to investigate he rents a room in Hogarth's house and starts to get suspicious of him. Hogarth tries to hide his robot friend in the junkyard owned by a local artist Dean who he once met in the diner where his mother works. Hogarth's plan seems to work at first, but before long the army gets alerted by Mansley of the robots location. I enjoyed this film because it's a great story about a friendship between a human and a robot. My favourite character was The Iron Giant because he was really nice to Hogarth and was always there for him. I recommend this film to anyone who likes heart-warming science fiction stories.
