The Lorax (2012)

This film is about a 12-year-old boy named Ted who lives in a town called Thneedvile where all the trees are fake. Ted has eyes for this one 15-year-old girl called Audrey and wants to impress her by giving her a real tree. Ted is told by his grandmother Norma that there is a man called the Once-ler who knows what happened to all the trees. Ted sneaks out from Thneedvile even though he was warned by mayor O'Hare not to go beyond the border of their town. He finds the Once-ler who agrees to tell him the story of what happened to all the trees over a couple of visits. The Once-ler tells him that a while ago when he was a young inventor and he arrived in the Truffula Forest which is home to all the Truffula Trees and is where the Humming Fish, Bar-Ba-Loots and Swammy Swans live. When cutting down a tree the Once-ler gets confronted by The Lorax who calls himself the guardian of the Truffula Forest. After the Once-ler cut down one of the Truffula Trees, The Lorax made him promise not to cut down anymore. The Once-ler uses the leaves of the Truffula Trees and makes a new invention called a Thneed. The thneed can be used for all sorts of things like a hat, scarf or even a skipping rope! He tries to sell his thneed to people in Thneedvile and although he is unsuccessful at first it eventually becomes a success and everyone wants to buy one. My favourite character is Norma because she was really funny at times and helped Ted get his wish. My favourite part was when Norma started snow boarding because it was absolutely hilarious. My least favourite character was O'Hare because he did not want any real trees in Thneedvile and he was being really negative about them. I would recommend this film to children and family and maybe some people who like nature.
