“Maybe Christmas doesn’t come from a store. Maybe Christmas…perhaps…means a little bit more!” — The Grinch This quote is just one of the heartfelt quotes from the Grinch. The movie “The Grinch” is one that can show the true meaning of Christmas and that it isn’t about buying things. You can probably already tell from the name ‘Grinch’ that the person this story starts with is not so fond of the festive cheer and joy on Christmas, they sulk during the time of winter and scowl at the Christmas carolers, decorations and snow. Yet there is an opposite to his feelings towards Christmas, which is Cindy Lou a joyful little girl who wishes to restore the heart of Christmas which doesn’t come from a shop. The Grinch however doesn’t care for Cindy Lou’s wish for Christmas to have its true meaning again and wont let her accomplish this. Yet in the end we all know that eventually good triumphs evil and that it always is a happy ending. Ending with the Grinch’s heart getting 3x bigger and his name not really fitting him anymore. One of the actors that made this movie a movie is Benedict Cumberbatch who brought the Grinch to life by being his voice actor, his voice really fits the character and I couldn’t imagine the Grinch having a different voice simply because Benedict is the perfect person for it. Emotion is in his voice when needed and it has the grumpy touch which is key for the Grinch. What has to be the best part of the whole movie is when the Grinch finally understands the real meaning of Christmas and says what is said in the quote at the start of this review. It really is the perfect movie for Christmas, how about this year you snuggle up in your living room with your family and watch this amazing movie!
