Wow, this series gets dark. Still good though.
I'm going to start with a hot take: I don't mind if they cut the Quidditch match. It wouldn't have added anything to the story, and likely only served as a flashy spectacle. You are entitled to whatever views you may believe on the subject, so long as you don't harass me about the subject.
This film deals with the Triwizard tournament, a... well, tournament where 3 Wizards try to win the Triwizard Cup. And a not-so-minor part of the story is dedicated to showing that, because the big Harry, James Potter (Now Hairy, James Potter) put his name in the goblet of fire.
To spoil a mystery, the headmaster of Dermstrang decided to put it in. Now, this guy was a Death Eater, and this was a plot to get Harry to revive The Dark Lord and kill Harry. I'm sure this was the reason, but I kinda wish it was more clear, because it took me some thinking (which I rerly do nowadays), which isn't bad, stories thrive on the audience noticing subtle consistencies, but I still wish that they made it clearer.
And there's the thing with Moody, Alistair Moody was my favourite character in the film, 3rd out of the entire series (for those who want to know it goes Remus Lupin, Sirius Black and then Alistair), he's stern and at points sincere and overall supportive. The twist being that... it strains me to say this, he is... David Tennant. I know, I strained to belive it myself when when Menerva ripped off his scooby doo mask like in one of those Mission Impossible films.
Since I already spoiled the Dermstrang bit, I'll keep that paragraph as is, since my point still stands, I actually would've preferred if the untwist series of events (him NOT being David) had played out. Maybe they could've used McDonald's (fun fact: David Tennant's real name is David John McDonald) character in future films, like they did with Serius Black.
There was a scene where Moaning Murtle makes a visibly unwanted advance on Harry Potter. This kinda made me uncomfortable, it didn't make me stop watching, no, but I feel if they took Murtle out of the equation, it would've made Harry look smarter in the related scene. Another thing I think is useless, Potter and Cho Chang, this was so redundant, I only remember it when I thought about what I would change.
Oh, before I forget, Finglehog! (THAT WASN'T EVEN CLOSE, that's it, I'm filing for divorce and not talking to you for a veerry long time.) Oh... what can I say?
P. S. I note that they accidentally used the Prisoner of Azkaban in the thumbnail.
