The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008)

This is an interesting film about a man raised in an old folks home with a peculiar (bordering on curious) condition causing him to age backwards. So we see him going from a shriveled prune of what many could describe a “Baby” to an old man by his pre-teens a well aged man during what many will consider their prime to the inverse happening where he looks like he’s during his prime while he’s certainly well aged to being a baby in his twilight years.

This would be a rather interesting medical condition to study in real life and there is a “similar” condition called progeria were one, physically, ages at a much rapid rate to what is commonly observed resulting in a much shorter life expectancy, usually around 15 years, but sometimes can range up to 20. (1)

The condition BB has is fictional, despite being inspired by the very condition just I mentioned.

I think this is an alright film, with some problematic elements, of which I shall not mention here. I don’t think I have really anything to say, it’s a good premise but on its own, The Courious Case of Benjamin Button doesn’t offer me much.
