Film title

Chuskit

Synopsis

Chuskit is a young, dynamic and playful girl who is looking forward to starting school and following in her brother’s footsteps but whilst out running in the mountains she trips and falls, an accident which renders her paraplegic. This does not, however, sway her from wanting the education she has always desired, meaning Chuskit must lock horns with her conservative and tradition-bound grandfather and convince him what she is capable of. This heartwarming Indian family-drama shows the difficulties faced by a girl caught between two worlds and the resilience she must show to escape the shadow of prejudice that her disability brings.

This film has not been formally certified by the BBFC. Into Film suggests it is engaging for ages 11-14. It contains one moment of peril and injury.
