Synopsis

Kubo is a young boy living in a small, seaside village in ancient Japan who enjoys telling stories to the local residents. However, this peaceful existence is suddenly shattered when a vengeful spirit of the past resurfaces. To overcome the gods and monsters which pursue him – including the Moon King and the evil twin Sisters – Kubo must locate the magical suit of armor previously worn by his deceased father, a legendary samurai warrior. Joining forces with Monkey and Beetle, Kubo embarks upon a quest to uncover the secret of his legacy in order to fulfil his destiny. The fourth film from animation studio LAIKA, this is a gorgeously-designed, fantastical adventure.

What our educators say

"We are currently screening The Wizard of Oz, profound film that it is, and the last film Wall-E. It's been rewarding observing the KS1 6 year olds run the gamut of emotions from wonder to sadness to joy. "
