'Ashta and the Dragon' wins Best Animation 2018: 13 and Over

Congratulations to filmmaker Jude, aged 13 from London, whose colourful stop-motion short Ashta and the Dragon has won Best Animation - 13 and Over (sponsored by Mr and Mrs Meyer) at the Into Film Awards 2018. The Award was presented by actors Georgina Campbell and Rosie Day.

Ashta and the Dragon, which you can watch above, is a delightful stop-motion short that sees a bewildered young man sent on an epic adventure by the local wildlife which eventually sees him cross paths with a sassy dragon named Gruff.

Jude started filmmaking aged just 6 years old, and has already won numerous film competitions, and his film Jessica's Wish won our Film of the Month competition back in February 2016. He also entered his film Space to Imagine into our Into Film Into Space competition, and had his film sent into outer space and watched by European Space Agency astronaut Tim Peake during his recent mission aboard the International Space Station (ISS).

I was very proud to be nominated as I attended the 2017 Awards as a Youth Advisory Council member and was inspired by the standard of the films. I'm very excited to be a part of this year's Awards.
