'Divines' at the 60th BFI London Film Festival

We caught up with the talent behind the inspiring French drama Divines at the 60th BFI London Film Festival. Divines tells the story of tough but naive teenager Dounia and her more cautious best friend Maimouna, as they get caught up in a life of crime in the suburbs of Paris.

In the video above, Director Houda Benyamina talks to our young reporter Ceyda about her Cannes prize-winning debut feature, and the importance her research into the world of drug dealers and dancers had on the character development.

In the video below, we talk to lead actors Oulaya Amamra and Déborah Lukumuena about their characters' ten year friendship - and the use of Snapchat to make it believable - as well as the lack of diversity in French cinema.
