'Miracle Life' wins Best Documentary 2017: 13 and Over

Congratulations to The Haven & Two Way Street & My Pockets, from Hull, whose incredible film Miracle Life has won Best Documentary: 13 and Over at the 2017 Into Film Awards.

Miracle Life, which you can watch above, is a heart-warming film full of hope, humour and creativity. In it, remarkable young people tell the stories of moving to the UK to begin new lives, detailing the surprises they experienced here and the curious, simple joy of living in a country with zebra crossings.

For many of the young subjects featured in the film, who arrived in the UK as refugees seeking a better life, this was the first time they had ever had the opportunity to visit London. "I was shocked to win it was a greatexperience to be here and win the award" said Rinas, 19. "I feel very happy" said Mawuwa, 20.

Even further to a trip to London was the fact that the winning filmmakers were joined on stage by James Bond actor Daniel Craig, who made a rare public appearance to present the award to the shocked and excited winners.

It's an honour to be in London - it was my first time. It was an honour to meet the guy who plays James Bond face to face - usually I watch him on TV!
